abscess hemorrhoid
Any experience with a peri-rectal abscess?
Pain started over the weekend. Thought it was a hemorrhoid but yesterday it was much harder. Just got diagnosed (was expecting to be cut – and relieved) and was sent home to ‘warm compress’ and come back once it was softer. My whole right side (hip to shoulder) is sore and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks!
Yes. I suffer from the same thing. It has “come and gone” since I was 10 years old. I noticed it after I fell down the stairs with a bowl of apples. (Thought I broke my tail bone)
It has also moved to my groin, where I have it on both sides now. Hot compresses and Neosporin do work to shrink, and or bring the boil to a head to burst on it’s own, or you can have it surgically done. I’d opt for it to burst on it’s own. Mine was about the size of a golf ball, but healed on it’s own after a few weeks of draining.
hemroid or cyst
What could this be?
I’ve noticed a painful…lump or something down there, and am at a loss as to what it could be. It’s not a sore, or anything that i’ve heard about before, you can’t see it at all. It hurts only if pressure is applied, and it seems to be a hard lump under the skin. you can feel it to the touch, but its not visible, the skin is not shiny, red, irritated, or anything. I don’t see how it could be any kind of std because for one, it doesn’t look like anything i’ve heard of, and also, i just got a pap smear done and it came back normal. I think i may have had one before, but it was closer to my anus, so i assumed it was a hemroid, and it went away in a week. it feels the same though, so i don’t think its a cyst or tumer or anything, because it will probably go away on its own. I just started the Depo shot birth control a few days ago, could this be a symptom of that? has anyone expieranced anything like this before, please any information is helpful. thankyou
You should go to the doctor, as a cancer survivor, anytime I hear of weird lumps I say “Get them checked ASAP!!”
It could be a cyst and really that’s what it sounds like. They do go away, depending on the kind of cyst.
Just be safe and go to the doctor.
rectal prolapse or hemorrhoids
Almost everyone suffers from hemorrhoids at one point or the other. For most people
this happens between ages 20 and 50. Hemorrhoids are the most common cause of
bleeding and are not generally dangerous – however a diagnosis from your doctor is
essential. Anal bleeding and pain should be evaluated as they could be symptoms of
more serious conditions.
Hemorrhoids are basically varicose veins of the rectum. These veins are located in
the lowest area of the rectum and anus and when they swell, the vein walls become
thin and irritated by bowel movements. When these swollen veins itch, hurt and bleed,
they are known are hemorrhoids or piles.
Hemorrhoids can be internal or external. Internal hemorrhoids are too far inside to
be seen or felt and their presence can usually only be detected by the bleeding.
However internal hemorrhoids can sometimes enlarge and bulge outside the anal
sphincter. Such prolapsed hemorrhoids may be seen as moist pink pads of skin that are
pinker than the surrounding area. These hemorrhoids can hurt but they usually go back
into the rectum on their own or can be gently pushed back into place.
External hemorrhoids form within the anus and are generally painful. If an external
hemorrhoid prolapses to the outside usually during a bowel movement, it can be seen
and felt. Sometimes blood clots can form within a prolapsed external hemorrhoid
causing it to turn blue and bleed. This condition is called thrombosis.
Natural remedies for Hemorrhoids:
1. Incorporate a high fiber diet consisting of vegetables, fruits, nuts and whole
grains.
2. Reduce sodium intake as excessive salt causes fluid retention and consequently
swelling in veins
3. Drink plenty of water.
4. If your work involves sitting for long periods of time, try to get up once every
hour and move around for 5 minutes. A doughnut-shaped cushion will make sitting more
comfortable.
5. Resist the temptation to scratch. Try using a cold pack and herbal anti-itch
cream.
6. Don’t sit on the toilet for more than 5 minutes at a time and wipe gently. Dampen
toilet paper or use cotton balls or alcohol free baby wipes.
7. Try yoga exercises. You can also lie on a slant board with your head down for 15
minutes every day. Yoga encourages blood flow away from hemorrhoids.

tucks pads hemorrhoids
Irritated perineum and skin around anus, What can I do?
so my perineum and skin around anus is irritated. It itches and burns and I don’t know what to do anymore :/
I’ve taken a lot of sitz baths and am constantly trying to keep clean with baby wipes and I’ve been using Tucks hemorrhoid pad things to alleviate the itching and burning but it still hasn’t gone away. I’m not afraid it’s an std or anything because I’ve only had one partner and got tested recently. It’s not in my vagina or anus just the skin between and around my anus. I’ve even tried antibacterial ointment like neosporin, peroxide but it wont go away.
So I guess my question is if someone knows whats going on or has had something similar and how they got rid of it since I’ve gone to the doctor and they don’t see anything so they can’t do anything about it.
You could be dealing with something called vulvodynia (an example only). I would recommend getting another opinion to see what they think could be going on.
In the mean time here’s the link to a site that may help you find more information. The link is at: http://www.vulvarhealth.org

hemroid or cancer
Are Hemroids life threatening?
I have (what I think is) a hemroid and I have the urge to go to the restroom freaquently from the bowel. Could it be cancer?? Could I die?? Are Colonoscopy’s dangerous? I made an appointment for 11:45 with my family doc.
No hemmhoroids are not life threatening. They do break open and bleed, and they are painful, but they are extremely curable. When you have a bowel movement, use a wet-wipe instead of toilet paper, and that will be more soothing.
A colonoscopy is a necessary procedure to make sure you don’t have something wrong internally. It is not a dangerous procedure either–and it’s not very uncomfortable. GO to the doctor. Make sure you get the tests he orders and do what he tells you.
An urge to go frequently is not related to your hemmhoroids.
webmd hemorrhoids
colon cancer or hemorrhoids
Just about everyone knows what a hemorrhoid is, but what are bleeding hemorrhoids? Is it the same, or are bleeding hemorrhoids worse? This article will explain what bleeding hemorrhoids are and its characteristics, including how it can be caused and what symptoms they have.
What is a Hemorrhoid?
A hemorrhoid is a simple (yet painful) inflammation caused by a swelling of veins either on the anus or in the rectum. They can be caused by stress, pregnancy, overexertion, smoking, or drinking, among other causes, and can range in intensity from mild to severe. Many Americans come down with hemorrhoids every year, and for the most part they are very treatable with home remedies. Some of the most used treatments for hemorrhoids at home include sitz baths, creams, and by changing your diet plan. By adding more fiber to your diet you can prevent hemorrhoid flare ups. Some of the more severe forms of hemorrhoids require surgery or other medical procedures to treat. This can include a hemorrhoidectomy. This is a procedure where they surgically remove the hemorrhoids.
What are Hemorrhoids (that bleed)?
This type of hemorrhoids is a common type that involves blood coming from the hemorrhoid (be it internal or external). This is typically considered a more serious form of hemorrhoid and needs to be evaluated by a qualified physician. Symptoms of bleeding hemorrhoids depend on whether or not the hemorrhoid is internal or external, but usually they include blood oozing out of the affected area. Blood in the stool is a common symptom of bleeding hemorrhoids; anyone experiencing this symptom should contact a physician as soon as possible. Weak rectal walls can also contribute to hemorrhoids, as can prolonged physical or emotional stress, so if you meet any of these conditions, your chances for getting bleeding hemorrhoids are noticeably higher than average.
Hemorrhoids can be painful and scary at first to those who suffer from them, and they always require the attention of a qualified physician. Knowing the symptoms and causes of bleeding hemorrhoids is the first step to obtaining relief from the discomfort caused by this affliction.
Bleeding Hemorrhoids symptoms
The symptoms of bleeding hemorrhoids are the same as regular hemorrhoids except the hemorrhoids will bleed regularly. The first obvious sign will be blood in or around the stool every time you go to the bathroom. If you notice blood when you wipe or on the stool you really need to consult your doctor right a way. This can be a sign of other more serious problems besides hemorrhoids. This can include colon cancer. Another symptom is severe anal itching. If you are experiencing itching with blood in or around your anal opening it’s a good chance you have hemorrhoids. Some also experience sharp anal pain when sitting down followed by blood oozing out. Some has also experienced one or more hard lumps near the anal opening that bleed and ooze out mucus daily. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms you need to see a doctor as soon as possible because it will get worst over time. This problem won’t go a way on its own!

hemorrhoid abscess
There are various home remedies for sinus pain pressure which can be used to good effect to give some pain relief. However, very often, it can prove to be a difficult condition to eradicate altogether. Many people look to treating chronic sinusitis naturally after having tried literally years of antibiotic and over the counter treatment.
Sinusitis is a very common infection, affecting over 15 million people each year. Out of these, a number will suffer from acute sinusitis, which is a short-lived one off infection which will either go away on its own or with the help of some supportive home or over the counter remedies. For others though, the situation can be very different. When the condition lasts for over 30 days, it is known as chronic sinusitis. There is no one exact cause of chronic sinusitis, although many doctors believe it commonly develops after a viral infection or a severe allergy. It can also be hereditary, with many sufferers having a parent who has had sinusitis and the reason for this is unclear. Some people are thought to be particularly sensitive to environmental pollutants and this could well be a cause in a minority of cases. More rarely, people with a tooth abscess can develop infection of the sinuses if the bacteria migrates into the sinuses.
Sinuses consist of a network of hollow cavities which surround the bones of the nose and face. Normally, they are completely hollow and clear. However, when sinusitis develops, these fill with fluid and pus and become obstructed. This can cause intense pain in the forehead and around the eye area which is often worse when leaning forward. Some sufferers will also have a generalized headache and soreness around the eyes, caused by a bacterial infection. Chronic sinusitis sufferers are also likely to have a postnasal drip and difficulty distinguishing smells.
If you have tried antibiotics, you will already know that their use in treating chronic sinusitis is very limited. Indeed this is a condition where home remedies for sinus pain pressure can be much more effective.
The following tips may help in treating chronic sinusitis naturally
* Drink plenty of hot drinks and soups as keeping hydrated can help thin the mucous. In addition, the gentle steam as you are drinking can help to loosen the solid mucous
* Try inhaling over a bowl of boiling water with a towel over your head to make a “tent”
* Apply a moist, hot flannel directly to the face for a few minutes. The moist heat will help
* Consider buying a simple humidifier to keep the air moist. Alternatively, allow air to freely circulate at home and keep bowls of water close to heat sources
* Saline drops which you can buy from a pharmacy have been shown to help a little. They will not do any harm so are worth trying
* Take great care when blowing your nose. Blow gently and keep both nostrils open
These self help tips may help give some relief although unless the infection is mild, they are unlikely to effect a full cure.
However, there is a recipe for a sinus nasal spray for treating chronic sinusitis naturally which guarantees that you will eradicate your sinusitis within just a day or so. Using just 4 ingredients, this works by quickly targeting the infection and symptoms. Imagine-you too could be completely pain-free simply by using this one simple remedy.

Few women of child-bearing age realize that plain old soap and water can prevent the #1 viral cause of birth defects, congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV).
Although CMV causes more birth defects than Down syndrome, more than half of OB/GYNs surveyed by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists admitted they don’t routinely caution their patients how to avoid the virus.
Women who care for young children are at a greater risk for catching CMV because preschool children are the majority of the carriers. Although it is usually harmless to healthy individuals, it can be devastating to a developing fetus.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
Every hour, congenital CMV causes one child to become disabled
Each year, about 30,000 children are born with congenital CMV infection
About 1 in 750 children is born with or develops permanent disabilities due to CMV
About 8,000 children each year suffer permanent disabilities caused by CMV
Congenital CMV (meaning present at birth) is as common a cause of serious disability as Down syndrome, fetal alcohol syndrome, and neural tube defects.
In order to reduce the spread of CMV infection, women of childbearing age should refrain from kissing their children around the mouth, sharing food and utensils with them, and they must wash hands their hands diligently with soap and water after wiping runny noses, changing diapers, etc. If soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand gel.
I’m a mother who didn’t know about CMV prevention until it was too late for my daughter, Elizabeth, who was born with congenital CMV in 1989. The moment Elizabeth was born, I felt a stab of fear-her head was so small, so deformed. The neonatologist said, “If she lives, she will never roll over, sit up, or feed herself.” He was right.
By her 16th birthday, Elizabeth had survived several bouts of pneumonia, seizures and major surgeries. Weighing only 50 pounds, she looked odd to strangers, but her cheerful, soul-capturing smile made her lovely to my husband, Jim, and me. Two months later, she died suddenly during a seizure. Jim cried, “No one is ever going to look at me again the way Elizabeth did.” No other parent should have to feel that way-especially when there are precautions one can take to avoid this kind of suffering.
After speaking at the international 2008 Congenital CMV Convention held at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA, to a community scientists and families about Elizabeth’s life with CMV, mothers approached me holding their children wearing hearing aids, or pushing them in wheelchairs, and wanted to know the same thing: “Why didn’t my OB/GYN warn me about CMV?”
In the article, “Washing our hands of the congenital cytomegalovirus disease epidemic,” Drs. Cannon and Davis state: “The virtual absence of a prevention message has been due, in part, to the low profile of congenital CMV. Infection is usually asymptomatic in both mother and infant, and when symptoms do occur, they are non-specific, so most CMV infections go undiagnosed.”
In an effort to warn those who have never heard of congenital CMV, I wrote a light-hearted memoir about my daughter’s life with her lazy, old devoted canine, called, “Anything But a Dog! The perfect pet for a girl with congenital CMV.” It includes interviews with the country’s leading CMV experts and raises funds for CMV research and parent support if purchased through the National Congenital CMV Disease Registry.
