Anal Fissures-What to do after all has been done?

After I had my son 5 and a half months ago, I got anal fissures and internal hemroids. I have been to 4 doctors and the hemroids have been healed but they can’t fix my fissures. The last doctor I went to told me that I was too young for the surgery or cutting the muscle down there. I have used all the prescription medicines and live in the bath tub. Has anyone heard anything NEW other then drinking gallons of water a day?
The pain is awful. While going to the restroom I fill the toilet with blood and after I can’t sit for 6 hours!

I’d suggest going to see a different doctor. No reason not to get a second opinion. I’d start eating lots of fiber and perhaps using stool softeners or laxatives so your fissures can heal. I’d just start downing veggies all day, cut down on carbs and large amounts of animal protein. I think if you can stay on the softeners for a month as well as eating lots more fiber, you could have a chance to heal them… I’d still go get another opinion… can’t hurt anyway. I just had hemorrhoid surgery (staple procedure) 2 days ago and just had my first bowel movement. Afterwards my hemorrhoids seem to be the same as before the surgery. Just as large and all. Someone please let me know if this is okay and normal, orif I need to go back to the hospital.

What does a hemorrhoid feel like?

I suppose its a sign that I’m growing up. I am just concerned about what it actually is compared to what I think it might be. About five days ago, I started noticing blood on toilet tissue and a burning sensation for nearly a half hour after using the toilet. And about two days later, and up until this very moment, all I feel is itching, all the time.

According to what I was reading, hemorrhoids are either internal or external. Internal ones bleed and hurt, and external ones itch. However, I have both symptoms. That could suggest that it started out as an internal one, that’s prolapsed, and is now external. But then, I don’t even know that it is a hemorrhoid, and I am not incredibly eager to go to my doctor and show her my butt, let alone stick in a finger, as I’m sure you could understand

Yep, you’ve got hemorrhoids. I’ve had external hemorrhoids for a few years now and when I have a flare-up, I experience that burning and itching sensation too. hi there… i’m 22, and when i was 21 i think i got an external hemorrhoid. not to sound nasty, but i was constipated for a while and then got bouts of diarrhea. the hemorrhoid, for the most part, stays inside but you can feel it like a lump right around my rectum. when i strain all the tissues around my rectum become inflamed and sort of come out a bit while i am going to the bathroom.

also, the hemorrhoid does not bother me at all… not itching, burning, etc. it is not even discolored, it just looks pink like the rest of the tissue. i am 22, 5′5″ and weigh 140 and eat healthy regularly.

A hemorrhoid is a varicose vein of the lower intestine, and sometimes can happen right at the anus- which it sounds is your case. You can get one at any age, being 22 is not a protection. It’s not serious yet, but it can get serious if you don’t make a few changes. Starting with your diet. You say you still need to strain to have a bowel movement, and that’s one thing you should never have to do at all if your diet is good. You need more fiber in the diet, there- so matters move along smoothly. Preparation H is more for treating the symptoms, it doesn’t treat the cause. That’s diet. You need to eat a lot more fruit and veggies, and whole grain foods, and less meat and refined flour products. More salads, fewer burgers and fries- wheat bread and not white. You can also add a glass of one of the soluble fiber drinks to the routine once a day, just to be sure you have enough to move things along. You also want to drink more fluids, though not alcohol, and you should learn to take a little time in the little reading room. You should not ever strain at all. If you get constipated, and feel like you just can’t go easily- then you can add in a mild laxative like Senakot, or toss a spoonful of flax seeds over something you will eat- a salad or whatever, or even in with your morning bowl of flakes. Whatever you do, stay away from the chemical laxatives. A regular doctor can help you with this, but that’s the basic advice they give when a hemorrhoid is still in the stage you describe. If you change your diet, it will shrink and likely disappear. If you don’t, eventually it will break, bleed, and itch- and if you let it go long enough and get bad enough, it’s a surgical fix. You really, really don’t want it to get to that point. Diet changes and regular non-straining movement should let matters heal in a matter of months. However, if you slip back into the bad habits, it can return quickly with a vengence. This isn’t a fix and forget thing- it’s a fix and stay on the remedy to keep it fixed thing. Health Problem. Warning, a little bit gross.?

Hello, I am a 15 year old male and had a minor health problem today. I don’t think it is anything to worry about but i would like an answer none the less. About an hour ago i my butt crack was itching a lot, so i went and get some toilet paper and wiped it. There was a fair amount of blood on it. So i flushed it and the itching is gone. My question is why was there blood? I crapped once today and it wasn’t huge or anything… wow i sound stupid typing this… Anyway this is the first time this has happened.
