hemorrhoid risk factors
Although hemorrhoids are not serious in nature, they can cause a lot of discomfort and are quite annoying to deal with. By affecting some dietary changes, you can prevent hemorrhoids or get considerable relief.
Dietary Changes for Hemorrhoids
Here are some dietary tips to prevent hemorrhoids:
Avoid foods causing constipation: Constipation is one of the primary factors causing hemorrhoids. Constipation forces you to visit the toilet frequently, and involves a lot of pushing and straining. This puts a lot of stress on the anal and rectal veins, resulting in hemorrhoids. You must be aware of the fact that constipation is often the result of poor diet. Hence, be sure to take a well-balanced diet along with avoiding constipation-inducing foods.
Avoid foods causing obesity: Obesity is yet another cause of hemorrhoids. When an obese person sits on a toilet seat, the anal and rectal veins are subjected to increased pressure, causing them to swell and resulting in hemorrhoids.
Diet Tips for Hemorrhoid Management
When the possibility of prevention is ruled out, dietary changes can at least reduce or manage hemorrhoids. Here are some useful tips:
Replacing fatty foods with fruits, vegetables and grains would help in reducing the symptoms of hemorrhoids. Such foods also reduce the risk of constipation. Hence, you won’t have to sit on the toilet seat for long hours, thus shrinking hemorrhoids and making them less problematic for you.
Combining healthy diet with regular exercise can help curb obesity. Also, you can avoid extra calories by avoiding fast foods. Reduced obesity means lesser pressure on the anal and rectal veins, and hence, decreased chances of developing hemorrhoids.
By ensuring increased consumption of fiber-rich foods and decreased consumption of fats, you can reduce the incidence of hemorrhoids.
Excessive consumption of dairy products, such as yoghurt and milk, must be avoided, since it results in excess lactic acid in the stool. Reducing them would provide relief.
Spicy food must also be avoided since they aggravate existing hemorrhoids.
A deficiency of Vitamin E also results in the development of hemorrhoids.
Arm yourself with knowledge about the affect of diet on hemorrhoids to reduce the risk of developing the condition. what is a large hemorrhoid
Treatment for inner hemorrhoids is very much the same as for all other types of hemorrhoids, including those which are thrombosed and those which appear outside of the rectum. One of the most common reasons why people get inner hemorrhoids is exertion when on the toilet passing a stool. Very often, the symptoms of inner hemorrhoids include bleeding and unbearable itching and many sufferers are aware of a lump inside the anus. If you have noticed blood and think that you may have hemorrhoids, it is wise to seek confirmation of this from a doctor if you are at all unsure.
The size of the hemorrhoid can often determine the most appropriate treatment. Large inner hemorrhoids can form a lump at the entrance of the anus and are sometimes mistaken for external hemorrhoids.
Conventional treatment for inner hemorrhoids varies and can include injections directly into the hemorrhoid, rubber band litigation, surgery and coagulation. You can also buy various over the counter remedies from pharmacies but I, like many other, have only ever found them useful for helping to relive the symptoms-but they do not make them go away!
What I found really disappointing was that after working myself up to going for surgery as a last resort, I found out that that would almost certainly not be an end to the problem and that the hemorrhoids would simply grow back.
After doing lots of research, it finally dawned on me that if I wanted to be free of hemorrhoids for good, something would have to change as it was my very lifestyle which was causing my hemorrhoids.
I searched high and low for treatment for inner hemorrhoids and came up with some self-help measures which you may also find useful:
* Do not delay passing a stool-go to the toilet whenever you feel the need
* Avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time
* Treat diarrhea or constipation promptly as both can aggravate hemorrhoids
* Eat a healthy diet, rich in fresh fruits and vegetables
* Drink lots of water as this helps avoid constipation and keeps the stools soft
* Avoid lifting heavy weights
* Always clean the rectal area thoroughly after defecation
* Do not have too many hot drinks as this can make the bowel sluggish
* Spicy foods can behave as irritants, and can therefore aggravate existing hemorrhoids
Natural treatment for inner hemorrhoids has been proven to be the most effective form of treatment-far better than surgery or over the counter medication. If you are prepared to invest a little time and effort, this will pay dividends-indeed the vast majority of hemorrhoid sufferers who try out a tried and tested method of treating hemorrhoids find that their symptoms have gone within 48 hours.

external hemorrhoid relief
I had surgery to remove my hemorrhoids. when will the pain go away and how can i get more pain relief?
I had internal and external hemorrhoids. I had surgery on 9-1-06. I am having trouble w/using the rest room and the pain afterwords is excrusiating. please help.
I do hope that you are using a stool softener or mild laxative. Use a hemorrhoid ointment or cream for the pain. Pain medications usually are constipating and you don’t need that! You will feel much better in about a week. I hope this helps.

How long does it take for bleeding hemorrhoids to stop bleeding!?
I have a prolapsed hemorrhoid and unfortunately it has ruptured. The bleeding has slowed down dramatically, but it is still bleeding. How long do they bleed for or how long can they bleed for? What is the best way to stop the bleeding?
Oh Honey, please go see a doctor about this! Blood lose is nothing to shrug your shoulders about.
Anybody know what to do about hemmoroids?
I had a child in May of 2008, which is how I got it in the first place, and he is now a year old and I still have it. It doesn’t hurt except after I go number two, and then it sticks out but if I haven’t gone that day then it’s no where to be seen. How do I get rid of this? I don’t really push/strain when I go. Is there any medicine or anything to get rid of it or am I just left with the option of surgery?
As long as you are not uncomfortable with this it is unlikely that surgery would be used. It’s too little and not causing enough problems. You can sit on some frozen peas (kept for the purpose) when it comes out, this will shrink it, so could some preparations you get from the chemist. When these are large and cause heat/irritation and do not retract then surgery can be an option but often surgery is very painful, some would say more so than the problem, and, as I said at the beginning this isn’t a big enough problem just now to go that way.
